Dean Nielson I simply love to paint land and seascapes in oil and acrylic. I prefer working on location on the west coast and in the southwest, but also paint from client photographs of favorite scenic spots on commission. I paint almost daily in my studio space at Blue Raven Art Studio at Coyote Gulch Art Community, located in Kayenta, Utah.

As a landscaper by profession, I celebrate rock formations, waterscapes and native plants in the environments I choose for subject matter. My commissioned murals have been created in private homes and businesses.

Caroll Shreeve Painting and teaching at Blue Raven Art Studio is a life dream come true for me. At Blue Raven we thrive on the stimulating collaborative spirit of creating art together in our working studio.

I trained in art education for my Bachelors degree at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, enabling my public and private school teaching for students of all ages from pre-school through university level in Ohio, Georgia, New Hampshire, Virginia and Utah. I have illustrated several books for publishers using Prismacolor pencils, watercolor, pastels and mixed media. Sharing what I know with eager students is so much fun and I always learn something new in the process.
